Men's tennis hosts UNC

The Georgia Tech men's tennis team will play on their home court for the first time in two weeks Friday when they host the fourteenth-ranked Tar Heels of North Carolina at 2 p.m. at the Bill Moore Tennis Center on Georgia Tech's campus.

Tennis defeats Clemson

Jorda DeLass defeated Jarmaine Jenkins at number two singles 6-7, 7-5, 6-4 in clinching the match and leading Georgia Tech to a 4-3 win over 20th-ranked Clemson in an Atlantic Coast Conference men's tennis match at Clemson, SC Wednesday.

With the win, Georgia Tech improves to 5-5 on the year, 2-0 in the ACC. Clemson falls to 13-4 overall, and 1-1 in league play.

Men's tennis falls to USCe

Freshman Pedro Campos earned a three-set victory at No. 2 singles to seal the South Carolina men's tennis team's 4-3 win over Georgia Tech Tuesday afternoon at the Sam Daniel Tennis Facility. The Gamecocks improved to 7-3 on the season while Tech's record dropped to 3-5 on the season.

The Yellow Jackets, ranked No. 37 nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), suffered their third straight loss Saturday when the fell to the No. 40 Auburn Tigers, 6-1, in Auburn, Ala.

Dawgs domintate tennis match

Georgia Tech (2-2), ranked No. 37 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, fell, 7-0, to in-state rival No. 1 Georgia (4-0) Tuesday at the Bill Moore Tennis Center. The Jackets were playing with out their No. 1 player David North who is nursing a sore back.

The top-ranked Bulldogs, a team that includes two players in the nation's top 15 and two others in the top 65, dominated the Jackets from the beginning, sweeping in doubles to jump out to a 1-0 lead.

Tennis hopes to break losing streak vs. UGA

The No. 1-ranked Georgia men’s tennis team will head to Atlanta Tuesday to take on No. 28 Georgia Tech at 4 p.m. The Bulldogs have won 20 consecutive contests against their in-state rival, a streak that dates back to 1988.

“Tech is our biggest rival and I think this is the best team they have had in a long time,” said Georgia head coach Manuel Diaz. “It will be a great challenge for us to play them on their home courts. We understand how hard they are going to come after us and we know we have to be prepared to play at our very best.”

Georgia Tech is currently 2-1 on the season and is looking to bounce back from an upset loss at Arizona State, 4-3. Georgia is fresh off of its third consecutive 7-0 win, most recently taking down another in-state rival in Georgia State on Saturday.

The last meeting between these two squads came in the 2006 NCAA Tournament second round when Georgia defeated the Yellow Jackets by a 4-0 score in Athens. UGA also recorded a 6-1 regular-season win against Tech, also in Athens.
