Jew here-
Based on Dave's review and picture of a ribeye, I rushed to Iberian Pig in Decatur. They took over one of the best spaces on the square. Sage didn't really deserve it!
The place was packed and I had to wait for a seat at the bar. 15 minutes later, I grabbed a spot and ordered a sangria. It was the worst I ever had. I switched to wine ($8) by the glass. I like their tiered system. Be careful, you can get bottomless wine too, if you choose to have a major headache the next day. The wine prices are very reasonable.
Even though I ordered only 3 food items, i wanted to order the entire menu. The prices are reasonable and the portions are very good. First up was the Jamon Iberico-yes, the Jew paid $14 for 2 oz of ham which is pig and is not kosher. I hate salt, but hoped that it wouldn't be salty and was pleasantly surprised...no salt, but butter! This cut is from the famous black footed Iberian pig of Spain-I know of some personally:) This was well worth it! I would definately order it again.
Next up was the Ensalada de Marcona consisting of Butter lettuce, Marcona almonds, Griottes cherries, shaved Manchego cheese, crispy shallots in a champagne vinaigrette - delicious and healthy portion.
Other than the sangria, the only disappointment was the bacon wrapped dates stuffed with Manchego cheese and Marcona almonds with a romesco dipping sauce. The bacon was overcooked (slightly), but the sauce overpowered the dish.
Finally, the Bomba dessert was a great palate cleanser...Mango, raspberry and passion fruit sorbet rolled in white chocolate - I personally hate white chocolate, but my friend loves all of these ingredients, therefore it was a winner!
I'll be back!
