Sad ending for $5M lottery winner

Last year, Doris Murray of Laurens County, who was a cook and a babysitter, won $5 million in the Georgia Lottery.
Now, the Sheriff's Office says 51-year-old Derrick Stanely [her ex boyfriend, shown next to her in the photo above] is in jail, charged with her murder [by several stab wounds to the chest].
According to Boortz (source unknown), Doris choose the annuity option, and was receiving $172K per year, after taxes, for 20 years. [Take that with a grain of salt, as I'm not aware of $5M winnings spread out over an annuity.]
To her credit, it appears she didn't go out and "blow" a lot of her winnings, as so many lottery winners do. She intended to set up a fund to help her descendants.
THURSDAY UPDATE: When Boortz mentioned this story Thursday AM, and asked if anybody knew of a happy lottery winner story, Royal said he'd read of a lottery winner who said "As long as I don't spend more than $20K/day, I'm only spending the interest of my winnings." Now, that's the way to manage winnings! Boortz (who has to drive his point) tried to downplay that by saving eventually the guy would feel limited by that. His helpers weren't buying that.
