Fortunately, he lost no physical capabilities, appears no crazier or dumb than he was, and only has a light scar shaped roughly like a V on his forehead. Learn from these and other incidents. DECATUR

With Premier Dodge's forced closing (see earlier post), there are now two closed car dealerships on Church St, as well as the dealership on Scott at the end of Church. At least Decatur proper no longer has new car dealerships, which once lined W. Ponce (with the Ford dealership on the Square). The "pay here" used car dealers are probably doing OK.

The stores on W. Ponce are holding another "Fab Friday" sale tomorrow evening. Full post coming.

Burrell Ellis asked his colleagues on the DeKalb Commission to approve $155,000 in taxpayer funds to pay consultants, including his campaign manager Kevin Ross who is managing the transition. Outgoing CEO noted some departments are already over budget, while revenues are down. [Peach Pundit]

If he were really serious, he'd have sneaked in a sharp piece of plastic and stabbed him. But, he could just waited and let the government take care of it for him, without getting into trouble.

Decatur Metro found a note on the Oakhurst Message Board noting DHS had the highest SAT score of any school in GHSA AA. So, perhaps our football team is smarter than those teams which are beating it.

The Asian Cajuns (who were at the GDBF) took some photos as they wandered around ATL.

Carl Black, the famous informer, was stuck between stations on a MARTA train Sunday during his sojourns around town.

The "lady" with blue hair was prominent at the GDBF. This blogger elected not to give "her" any press coverage with a photo. Reportedly, the "big hair girl" was also there. We live near a big city, so we get all types. It's a free country, so as long as they are not breaking any ordinances, they are welcome in Berkeley Decatur.

METRO DECATUR AND DEKALB

A DeKalb County jury Saturday found Clayton Jerrod Ellington guilty of murdering his wife and twin 2-year-old sons with a hammer. The same jurors will return today to begin a hearing on whether Ellington should be sentenced to death. No DeKalb jury has returned a death sentence in 19 years. [AJC]

UGA and GT are 9th and 21st respectively in the FB polls, and 7th and 18th in the first BCS poll. Both have 6-1 records. Both have some tough opponents coming up, and both are likely to lose at least one more game. GT currently leads the Coastal Div. of the ACC, as a result of VT's loss.
