Mac McGee has started a Whiskey Club. Every third Tuesday, a different series of Whiskeys will be served. The next one features Maker's Marker, including the new 46 (which, as a commenter notes, is not the age). This Alcology article explains the number comes from the No. 46 French Oak staves used.

It's slow but pleasant on a warm Thursday night.
inDECATUR, the oldest active blog in Decatur, will be three years old next month. Regator, a great aggregator/curator of blog posts, was started a year and day after inDECATUR, and selected inDECATUR as a founding contributor.
Another Decatur news blog emerged shortly after inDECATUR got started, and now we have an online newspaper and MANY specialty blogs. The more the merrier.
Since our birthdates are only a day apart, and we're both based out of Decatur, we elected to celebrate with our friends at the Grange (now the Marlay). We're going to do the same thing this year, and all are invited.
Kimberly's event invitation on Facebook says it much better than I can. [If you're on Facebook, please RSVP there.] And by all means, if you don't like inDECATUR for any reason, you can still come celebrate with Regator.

Doc Al announced yesterday that the building owner will soon begin demolish of the damaged walls at Trackside. That will be followed by a rebuild of the walls and a buildout of the interior.
The building burned early in the morning of election day, 2/20/2009.
There will be some rearrangement, but the beloved bar will remain the same.
228 people (and growing) have already joined the new Facebook page, which Doc will use to keep the "Trackside Refugees" posted on progress. it was only started yesterday afternoon. The old page had 320 followers.
Trackside will not expand into the space occupied by the Fifth Earl before the fire. The owners of Fifth Earl do not intend to return.
