inDECATUR is about the last local publication to have posted about this new opening. Hopefully, this post is additive in showing more inside photos (and possibly a video later).
Update: John Kessler @ Access Atlanta just added his blurb.
We've been following the buildout of the pub since back during the book festival. It finally informally opened to coincide with the snow, appropriately enough.
It provides an Irish-like warm interior with lots of appropriate bric-a-brac. The stained glass window is the most dramatic touch.
The receipt says "Quiet Pint Ltd Co." Like the Grange, it also has two tax entries, one being the 7% sales tax the second (3%) presumably to cover licences and taxes paid to the City of Decatur. This makes a $6 Jameson price out at $6.60.
You should stop in and look around, as there's too much to show in a post. While you're there, try out the grub and let us know how it tastes.
McGee joins the Grange, Steinbeck's (which maybe is supposed to be British), and the James Joyce in Avondale. Melton's App & Tab just northeast of Decatur also has a similar ambiance.
