If you haven't yet decided where you'll bring in the new year (and new decade to some), here are but a few possibilities:
Arizona Pub (Kirkwood/Edgewood)
This is a good place to start, It's only about three miles down DeKalb Ave. toward the big city from the western City of Decatur line. I hear many Trackside refugees will gather here. See the Facebook event page for details.
Brockett Pub (Clarkston)
This is about the same distance east of Decatur. Special drinks will be served on NYE, with complimentary champagne at midnight. A good luck meal will be served Friday.
See earlier inDECATUR post
New Years Eve - open till late Champagne Toast at midnight No reservations first come first served
The BSP will be open NYE but not NY Day.
LEONs is having a Speak Easy party. Call the restaurant for more details, 404-687-0500. (It will be closed on NY Day.)
Call for details.
Palate is hosting a Blue Jeans New Years Eve Party/Casino Night, from 8p to 2a. (See earlier inDECATUR post).
10p Blue Mother Tupelo Michelle Malone (sold out)
TCP will be open as usual NYE (with bowl games showin) and will have lucky NY vitals on NY Day.
Dance floor. Free champagne at midnight.
Contra dance Friday night.
This is far from exhaustive. Please add others via comments.
And, of course, there are plenty of hottie tootie (and usually expensive) events all over metro ATL.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL
You can get arrested, get hurt, or (worst of all) hurt/kill somebody. If possible, walk or take a cab, rail, or bus. It's wise to celebrate last in walking distance from home. If you're driving, please use a designated driver.
- Ch. 11 will pick up your Checker cab fare. Call 404-351-1111.
- AAA will tow your car home, whether you're a member or not, via "Tow-To-Go." Budweiser picks up the tab. Call 1-800-AAA-HELP.
- Yellow Cab will offer free rides on New Years Eve from 9:00 P.M. - 2:00 A.M. The phone number is 706- 660- 6069.
We want to see all our friends again next year, and not in jail. And remember, many amateur drinkers will be drinking much more heavily than usual tonight.
