The Georgia Urban Forest Council, Inc. a nonprofit organization
with the mission of sustaining Georgia’s green legacy by helping
communities grow healthy trees, will present a workshop, “Restoring
Your Backyard Ecosystem” on Saturday, April 18, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at
the DeKalb Extension Service Office, 4380 Memorial Drive, Decatur,
Georgia 30032. The registration fee for the workshop is $25, and those
new to the Georgia Urban Forest Council will receive a one-year
complimentary individual membership. Group rates are available.
Decatur needs to change its restrictions on front yards to encourage natural ecosystems and urban farming.
