Price Jones, who was an assistant coach last year for the Decatur Bulldogs and promoted to Head Coach in May, said his players are ready for the season to begin.
"They
really responded well this summer," said Jones, who is entering his
23rd season as a football coach. "I had a good number of kids working
out that have great attitude and work ethic."
Jones said he has
implemented a lot of change in the football program including bringing
in new coaches and altering the offensive and defensive schemes. Under
Jones the Bulldogs will be running a wing-t offense with multiple
formations and on defense they'll have an eight-man front.
Decatur,
which plays its first two games on the road, will open their new
multimillion-dollar stadium on Sept. 19. The field comes with new
bleachers, scoreboard and Astroturf.
