The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday once again shows Barack Obama attracting 50% of the vote while John McCain earns 45%. That’s the third straight day with identical numbers and the nineteenth straight day that Obama’s support has stayed in the narrow range from 50% to 52% while McCain has been at 44% of 45% (see trends).

Electoral College projections now show Obama leading 255-163. When “leaners” are included, Obama leads 300-174.

The spread in the popular vote is anywhere from 5 to 12 points, depending on the poll.

McCain has a new stump speech, with about three weeks to go.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows Barack Obama attracting 50% of the vote while John McCain earns 45%. That’s a bit closer than numbers from a week ago when Obama enjoyed an eight-point advantage, his largest lead of the year.

Electoral College projections now show Obama leading 255-163. When “leaners” are included, Obama leads 300-174.

With only a 5-point difference, some conservative pundits are premature in throwing in the towel on the Sunday talk shows.

But, M/P needs a clear, focused strategy for the rest of the way.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows Barack Obama attracting 50% of the vote while John McCain earns 45%. The race remains quite stable--for the past fourteen days, Obama’s support has ranged from 50% to 52% every day while McCain has been at 44% of 45% (see trends).

Currently, Obama has the edge in every state won by John Kerry four years ago. However, of the states won by George Bush, McCain is trailing in four and five others are considered a toss-up. As a result, Electoral College projections now show Obama leading 248-163. When “leaners” are included, Obama leads 300-174.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows Barack Obama attracting 51% of the vote while John McCain earns 45%. For the past thirteen days, Obama’s support has ranged from 50% to 52% while McCain has been at 44% of 45% every day (see trends).

Electoral College projections now show Obama leading 248-163. However, when “leaners” are included, Obama leads 300-174.

Obama is on track to win with 28 days left including today. Something will have to change to derail him.

In this blogger's opinion, McCain is not running an effective campaign. He is not pointing out the fundamental differences, and is not showing how Obamanomics cannot work.

Developments & discussion for Monday, 9/29/2008

O/B is sitting on a 5-9% lead, according to the latest daily tracking polls.

Most Americans are mad and heck about the need for spending $700B (or more) to resolve the financial mess. Most of them incorrectly blame only the Republicans, and McCain has not been all that successful in convincing people he's a maverick who will be different, as the O/B campaign tries to paint him as "McSame."

The spread could grow wider after the VP debate, unless Sarah does better than she's done in recent interviews. Many relate to her better than any of the others, but wonder if she's ready to take over if necessary.

The electoral college map is swinging back toward O/B, but still has room for M/P to win.  It comes down to 8-12 "swing" states.

Unless things swing a lot further, Georgians are just voting for the popular vote, with no impact on who moves into the White House. We have to give the O/B campaign credit for registering voters. It will also work hard to get those not especially interested to the voting booths.

Developments & discussion for Saturday, 9/27/2008

As expected, the pundits cover the waterfront in who did best in last night's debate.  Most neutral observers seem to be calling it a draw. Neither candidate shot off his foot, neither scored a fatal shot on the other, and both achieved their objectives.

The daily tracking polls over the next few days will tell whether the debate had any significant impact in the race.

In ATL, Laura Ingraham has moved from 920AM to Atlanta ­ WCFO AM ­ 1160 ­ 9am-12pm M-F.

Is it condescending for Michelle to say "you see" so much?

Why did Michelle say she felt she should pay back her country by helping others, when, not so long ago, she said she first felt pride in her country when Barack won the nomination?  Bryon York @ NRO speaks of her rehabilitation.

Didn't Barack warn everyone to leave his girls out of the race? So, why were they paraded out on stage Monday night. And why was a 10-year old wearing an outfit with spaghetti straps?

What were we supposed to read into the fact that Obama was staying in a white family's home in Saint Louis (or was it Kansas City?) And why did he talk with a very white voice there, when he talks in a noticeably Black voice in some venues?
