Who is Chris George Carlos?

Based on the Google hits the weekend Decatur-DeKalb post about the water hog is getting, a lot of people are trying to learn more about this guy (who reportedly uses 390K gallons of water a month, on average, with a 2" intake pipe from the water system). That's an average of almost 9 gallons/minute, continuously flowing.

He lives at 4151 Thunderbird Drive, Mairetta, GA 30067 -- off Paper Mill Rd [map]. (You could write him a letter.) His property appears to go all the way between Thunderbird and Papermill.

UPDATE: Evidence is mounting that this man is related to the the Carlos family which made its money in alcohol and has since made major donations to Emory and Woodward Academy, but we're still missing a hard, confirmed link. [see Wed 11/13 D-D post].

We don't have a lot of privacy these days, so we can expect a complete profile on him sometime this week (including why he has three first names). He's becoming infamous across the region, if not the country. Hopefully, he's not related to Michael C. Carlos, for whom the Carlos Museum at Emory is named.

He's not breaking the law. He's just ticking lots of people off with his conspicuous consumption of H2O. He should have had the prescience to have a well dug already. Rumors are he might try to sue for the release of his address, but this is public information, accessable by anyone, as far as this blogger knows.

The solution for the county is to assign a logarithmic scale to residential water usage bills, so even rich people [nothing wrong with being rich] will feel the economic pressure to conserve at some point.

Sparticle, as the linked later 11/13 post notes, we know a Carlos was a founder of National Distributing and another, who was a CEO, gave lots of $ to Emory U's Carlos museum.

We also know there are two men with the first name of Chris who are descendants of one or the other of these two men.

We just haven't (yet) been able to make a hard link between the Chris George Carlos who lives at 4151 Thunderbird Lane and these men.

With many bloggers working on it, the resident should be pinned down exactly soon.

His money comes via National Distributing. Same folks that donated money to Emory.

We're supposed to give him a pass because of all the money they've donated to the community.

I use to clean their swimming pool. Last time I was at their(Chris Carlos) home, it was off Powers Ferry Road in Buckhead. Though they are rich enough to have two homes. I never heard them mention this other home or I am sure I'd be cleaning it.

Thanks for the info, Luke, but it's been established via multiple sources that CGC and his wife Merry are the owners of this house.
