Decatur Heights Neighborhood (Decatur, GA)
A little history:
In December 2002, neighborhood volunteers met with City Manager Peggy Merriss and Mayor Bill Floyd to discuss how to work with the city on safety, traffic, MARTA, and general issues concerning the neighborhood. Both Ms. Merriss and Mayor Floyd provided guidance and a willingness to work with our Association. At our next meeting later in January, we will review our options and establish a working committee to continue this work.
In late 2002, Susan Bird [www.BirdProperty.com], who lives on the west side Sycamore Dr. between Hillcrest and Grove (look for the blue and white golf cart with a GA tag); withdrew as head of the Decatur Heights Association. A
small committee – Annie Archbold, BabsFiorentino-Creta, and Stuart
Stuckman – volunteered to develop neighborhood association By-Laws
and a Mission Statement.
During the 1Q of 2003, the committee asked the neighborhood to discuss,
amend, and approve these documents.
