North East Decatur Garden Club

The North East Decatur Garden Club (NEDGC) is now forming.

It's about organic gardening of edible plants as well as attractive flowers.

What it becomes depends entirely on expressed and demonstrated interest.

If you're on Facebook and are interested, please join the NEDGC Facebook group.

A web page has been created. It's url, NEDGC.com, is currently parked at GoDaddy.com. The link will forward to the website tomorrow. In the meantime, you can get to it using this link.

Anyone living north of the CSX railroad and East of Clairemont is encouraged to join, and others are welcome, whether they live in incorporated Decatur or not.

We've broadened the name from "Decatur Heights Garden Club" as displayed at the DH block party Saturday because we want to involve Sycamore Ridge, Sycamore Place, and North Decatur Heights residents, as well as those who live in unincorporated DeKallb east of Arcadia and north of Forkner.

Naturally, we welcome anyone who wants to participate, whereever they live, but we understand that those closer to the designated area will find it more convenient to join us.

There is NO intention to supersede any existing garden club, nor to compete with any of them. We all have the same interests and motivation. 

Whether this becomes something big, or dies on the vine, depends entirely upon the response received.

Looking good! Only a 10% chance of a spring shower. Bring plastic ponchos to be safe.

Nieghbors are asked to bring a dish to share and pack a picnic basket (plate, silverware, nakins, drinks) and chairs for themselves and whomever they bring.

We be handing out these cards in magnet and paper form  at the block part beginning 5 p.m. tomorrow.
