Glenn Creek Nature Preserve workday Saturday 9-12 am

Hi Everyone,

This Saturday, April 24th, we have a Glenn Creek Nature Preserve Work Day from 9am to 12pm.   While most Poison Ivy in the Nature Preserve is out of reach, please bring gloves and wear long sleeves and pants.   Also bring water.   We will be removing Privet and English Ivy.   We are also asking all volunteers to bring towels for bedding and cage liners for AWARE, the wilderness animal rescue organization.  Deanne Thomas has offered to bag them up and bring to their headquarters near Arabia Mountain.  AWARE also needs transport volunteers, and more info will be available on Saturday for those that are interested.  Pizza or Burritos will be provided for all volunteers around 12. 

Deanne: All neighbors are welcome to drop off towels at the project site at the end of Fairview off Ridgeland. Please no holes or ravels as the towels are used to care for baby animals ( to avoid possible injury).

Also mark your calendars for Saturday, May 8th when Trees Atlanta will be working on the other branch of Glenn Creek Nature Preserve.   We will meet at the entrance to the Park on Glendale and will be working on:  

-spread grass seed on steep slope

-pick up trash

-move native plants that will be damaged during stream bank restoration. 

-talk to neighbors and answer any questions about the project.
