Sorry about the off-topic sports post. Such a post is very unprofessional, but I couldn't resist.
Here's a chart ranking the bowl records of all Div. 1A teams with at least a dozen bowl appearances.
(If a team has been to less than a dozen bowls, it doesn't have enough data to be ranked.)
GT and Oklahoma State are tied with 2/3 wins, but I declare GT the leader, since it has been to more than twice as many bowls as Oklahoma State, given it a more solid record.
If you're thinking GT hasn't been to that many bowls, think again. It's in the top 13 in most bowls attended (a record it lost back in the 70s during its period between the SEC and ACC conferences and during it's mediocre period in the early to mid 90s), and it has 22 bowl wins, which is 6th, just one win behind Tennessee, Penn St., and Oklahoma (as of this date).
GT has now been to 8 straight bowls (mostly minor, admittedly), something less than a dozen teams have done. Next year, with 11 returning starters, it hopes to play in a NY Day bowl.
We now return you to your normal ACE programming.
