Colliding cultures: Using a .45 to create a flower vase

Guess this is similar to the statement Rose was trying to make in posting a photo of her four-year-old daughter wearing an ammo belt [Video].  Some of these things are go over a simple-minded old paratrooper's head.

A guy, a girl, a gun, and a big brass bed

Leif Ping @ Today's Inspiration notes an obsession in spy/mystery novels with guys, girls, and bedroom scenes, highlighted by such things as big brass beds.

Some of us are reminded of the song with the words "lay across my big brass bed" in "Lay Lady Lay" by Bob Dylan. Others have picked up on the line. In Kate Jame's "James and the Cold Gun" is the line "She still awaits in her big brass bed."

In the literature, brass beds are often associated with ladies in the oldest profession, but some in the next oldest also like them.

The obsession with guns, girls, and beds is not exclusive to Western civilization. It's just more repressed in other parts of the World, dominated by more restrictive governments.  Remember the tacky images the Hussein family had in a mansion?
