Military.com looks at the Kriss Super V .45 submachine pistol by TDI (covered in earliier A-C-E posts). Currently, the Army is putting the Kriss through environmental testing to ensure it can stand up to sand, cold and heat and still do the job. TDI officials are also in discussions with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms about the standards it wants to permit the weapon to be sold commercially.

Rob Lyon reviews the unique Mateba autorevolver, reviewed by A-C-E some time ago.

See 31MAY2006 A-C-E post. Haven't read of any military or LE unit buying a significant number of them yet, but some sales could be based on secrecy.

Alliant Techsystems is unveiling its newest Chain Gun(R), the Lightweight 25mm (LW25), at the AUSA Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington D.C. today [08 OCT]. The system has been integrated into the Common Remotely Operated Weapons Station (CROWS) and mounted on an up-armored HMMWV for the event. [CNN]

Box O' Truth #40 looks at "brush-burster" bullets. Should have fired at least a dozen shots and averaged the deflection.

UK adopts the FRES as it's Stryker-like armored vehicle. [DID]

Aviation Week's Aerospace Daily & Defense Report says that the U.S. Army picked Alenia's C-27J for the Joint Cargo Aircraft (JCA) program. [DID] Somewhere between 40 and 78 aircraft will be purchased.

ATLANTA -- Stopping at a southern landmark of African-American politics and fried chicken presidential contender Hillary Rodham Clinton picked up an endorsement Friday from Georgia congressman John Lewis. The announcement came as Clinton and Lewis campaigned during the lunch hour at Paschal's Restaurant, the longtime political center of Atlanta's African-American community. [WSB TV] Quite a blow for Obama.

You can get a USAF 60th Anniversary commemorative postmark.
