A 25MAY06 A-C-E post covered the Taurus 4410 "Tracker," a 5-shot revolver with a 6.5 inch barrel which can fire 2.5-3in. .410 shotshells or .45 Colts.
Taurus has introduced "The Judge" (4510TKR) with a 3" barrel and weighing 29 ounces.
See the video on it. [h/t Redneck's Revenge]
Jeff Quinn @ Gunblast reviewed it back in February.
A .410 round is not a great personal defense round, in terms of stopping power, but it will definitely discourage an attacker, especially if shot in the face. But ACE would have at least 2 .45 colts in the last two cylinders, just in case.
It's a bit big for concealed carry, but great for carrying in a vehicle.
It would make a great trail gun, but watch your toes when shooting at snakes.
A small-scale manufacturer in Tennessee has been making a similar firearm, the Thunder Five (with a 2" barrel and weighing 48 ounces), for years. (See image in continuation)
