Developing the Humvee replacement

The Nov/Dec issue of Defense Technlogy International (DTI), just out, has an article about the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle Program (JLTV), beginning on page 18. (Click on the help button at the link to learn how to navigate through the magazine.)

In May of 2007, a decision will be made as to whether JLTV should be kicked into a full development program pitting two contending companies against each other.

The Army and Marines are looking for 25K-45K vehicles deployed beginning around 2011. Humvees are expected to hang around after that for stateside and non-combat duty.
