FN introduced the 5.56mm F2000 bullpup assault rifle in 2001. Militaries and LE units have slowly shown interest. Slovenia adopted it midyear 2006.

Note the shells are ejected near the end of the barrel, eliminating a problem associated with most bullpups, especially for lefties. Combined with ambidextrous controls (a la the FN P90 PDW), this makes the rifle fully ambidextrous. This site shows graphically how this is done.

The FS2000 is a semi-auto version for civilian sales, introduced in June '06. [400 early ones had to be recalled due to potential slamfires when using civilian ammo, as a result of of accidental use of heavier military firing pins designed for military ammo with harder/denser primers. This was a production error and not an inherent design flaw.]
