Never underestimate the .22

The Hardin County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at 6905 Ben D. Smith Rd. When they arrived, they found Charles Mitchell Crawford, 43, had been shot in the abdomen and the bullet tore a major artery and caused internal bleeding.

He was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where he suffered a massive heart attack from the injuries and died later that day.

He told her that a .22 caliber pistol had fallen off of a bedside table and shot him when it hit the floor.
