In May 1995, Jay Stokes set a Guinness world record by making 331 free-fall parachute jumps in 24 hours at the Raeford airport. In November 2003, he extended that record to 534 jumps.
Stokes has his sights set on another record — 600 jumps.
On Sept. 8, he will attempt to make an average of one jump every 2 minutes and 24 seconds for 24 hours at a private airport in Greensburg, Ind., where he works.
Incredible, especially considering he'll celebrate his 50th birthday the day before he attempts to set the new record.
