As this image illustrates, M113A3s (vastly improved versions of the tracked APC used in Vietnam) are being used, to some extent (at least 1700), in Iraq.

The vehicle can be transported on C-130s with the slating in place, ready to roll off and roll into combat. (Well, track, actually.)
The shielded gun turret looks good, and probably would have saved the life of the first Congressional Medal of Honor winner in Iraq, SFC Smith (of course, he probably wouldn't have won the medal in that case, as it is almost always awarded posthumously, but that is of no real consequence).
