According to a blurb in today's Atlanta J-C, the US Army will pull out of 13 bases in southern Germany as part of its repositioning of forces around the globe.
Eleven bases in and around the Bavarian city of Wuerzburg will be handed over to the German government by September 2007. Two more nearby bases will be closed and handed over years later.
The changes will impact about 6K soldiers, 11K family members, 1K Army civilian employees, and 1K civilians.
