A stretch of a road not five miles from my Decatur place has been renamed "Cynthia McKinney Parkway." (The good news is that Mapquest doesn't acknowledge it.) She's the most embarassing politician from GA since Jimmy Carter.
UPDATE: I missed a GA bill (which apparently has already passed -- will have to check that) to RE-RENAME the stretch "Memorial Drive" but dedicate it to those who died on 9/11 and all those who have died defending our country, rather than to Confederate fighters which it originally honored. IMO, the Confederate fighters were also defending our country from foreign invaders. We just had a different country at the time. I applaud this BADLY NEEDED name correction.
IMO, things should not be named (or renamed) for people until they've been dead at least ten years, and we know all there is to know about them.
While we're talking about Protest Warrior: To counter the Decatur, GA anti-war protestors, who stand on a street corner every Thursday afternoon with signs saying HONK IF YOU WANT THE TROOPS HOME NOW, I'm going to modify this PW sign to say HONK IF YOU AGREE WAR HAS NEVER SOLVED ANYTHING except (with the rest of the words on the poster in smaller letters at the bottom, then go stand on the corner with them.
