I've been trying to stay away from politics since the election, but Barbara Boxer went WAY BEYOND THE PALE in attacking Condi Rice yesterday.
You can't come much closer to calling somebody a LIAR outright than saying this:
"You contradicted the president and you contradicted yourself."
If the old days, a glove across the face and a duel would probably have followed.
I was going to compose something, but I couldn't do it better than Captain Ed already has.
John Kerry was pretty obnoxious with his rambling criticism of the Bush Administration, also, but he's smoother at it. I could talk about that, but I'm not one to kick a man when he's down. I'm just glad he could make the meeting (something he RARELY did before).
Joe Biden also maximized his 15 minutes (or was it 45?) of national TV time. If there was a question in his speech, it was hard to find. In referring to the frosty relations with our European allies, he said: "Get over it!" That would be excellent advice for the Democrats in general, who seem to be expressing lots of sour grapes at every opportunity.
None of this will have any impact on actual events, as CR's approval is a foregone conclusion.
It's a shame these bombastic people don't have to "ask" their "questions" out in the cold, so they would perhaps catch a fatal cold like William Harrison (after he rambled on for 105 minutes). ;-)
