... uhhh ... did I mention they are cute?
ACE ratings for Tuesday night RNC speakers:
Awwnold: 8 (good, but not great)
Laura: 6 (she'd have been better speaking in her own words)
The daughters: .... the MTV crowd probably loved their air-head act, and they're cute
I'm not sure which annoys me more: A Yale graduate who speaks with an affected accent and as if he's an experienced statesman (as John Kerry did just after his graduation), or a Yale grad who talks like she's still in the 10th grade, thinking ahead to the weekend party and the upcoming prom.
As for the University of Texas ... enough said.
Kids have no business in bars or speaking at conventions. They should be allowed to become adults before they are spoiled by politics! What? The Bush twins are 22? OK, let's raise the legal age to 25, then.
All told, a weak night. I was left de-energized. Only comparing Laura to Tereza made me feel better. Had the started with the twins (for a minute - two at the most), gone on to the First Lady (about half that long), and then the Governator (before it got too late), I'd have been pumped more.
Unless Zell Miller surprises me, we're going to need at least a 9 speech from George Thursday night to get the 5-7 pt. bounce ACE predicted earlier. Cheney is good at attack dog speeches. He's quoted as saying "Kerry may see two Americas, but America sees two Kerrys."
