GA paper stands by cartoon of ObL supporting Kerry
20 MAR 04. Augusta (GA) Chronicle.
The Democratic Party chairmen for Richmond County and the State of GA have written scathing letters (which were published -- it's called free speech) to the Augusta Chronicle complaining about a Mike McKee cartoon which shows ObL supporting JfK:

In demanding the apology, Richmond County Democratic Party Chairman Lowell Greenbaum issued this threat on Friday: "Either you take the high road or you'll hear from us."
The Chronicle's editorial page editor, Michael Ryan, in standing by the cartoon, says:
"To me, this cartoon is merely saying that terrorists would rather have John Kerry to deal with than George W. Bush. And I think that's not only a legitimate opinion but one that is borne out by the facts."
Why don't Democrats have a sense of humor? They even got their panties in a wad when GWB made fun of himself for not finding the WMDs, after they have harped about it. He was making fun of their preoccupation with the matter, not our troops.
I don't suppose they'd care much for this Cox & Forkum cartoon posted at A Collection of Thoughts either:

If you ask me:
If John Kerry keeps saying ludicrous things like "A number of foreign leaders support me, but I can't reveal who they are" and "I voted for it before I voted against it," Democratic party chairmen all over the US are going to have full time jobs threatening papers to not publish cartoons and satirical columns making fun of him. He's headed toward being a laughingstock well before November. We might even seeing him driving a tank (or an aircraft carrier, since he claims he knows more about them than GWB) before then.
Personally, I like this McKee cartoon:

Murdoc thinks the Marines will do even better than the 82nd Airborne in Fallujah (which is one of the few things on which we don't agree -- to me the Marines are better than the 82nd only in their PR), but there might be one bunch which would be tougher IF Iraq were in a colder climate, or if they were issued sand boots instead of skates.
